Frequently asked questions

You're not alone, others before you have probably had the same question! Have a look below and if something isn't covered feel free to contact us, we're here to assist.

The installation time for a CCTV system depends on the size and complexity of your property. A typical 4-camera system for a single-storey home or standard office usually takes around 3-5 hours. For larger properties or more cameras, such as an 8-camera system for a double-storey home, the installation can take up to a full day (6-8 hours). Larger commercial installations, like those in warehouses, might take up to 2 days to complete.

The storage duration of CCTV footage depends on the hard drive size, camera resolution, frame rate, and recording settings. Most installations aim for around 2-weeks of back up footage.

If you need longer storage, you can increase the hard drive size, reduce the frame rate, or enable motion-based recording instead of full-time recording.

When selecting locations for your CCTV cameras, consider areas that are most vulnerable to intrusions, such as entrances, driveways, and windows. Ensure that cameras are placed at a height that prevents tampering and provides a clear, unobstructed view.

It's also important to cover blind spots and ensure that lighting conditions, such as shadows or glare, do not affect the camera's performance. Strategic placement helps maximize the effectiveness of your security system

No, the system will function and record footage even without an internet connection. However, if you want remote access via a smartphone app, live streaming, or push notifications, an internet connection is required.

It's important to note that NVRs do not support Wi-Fi, so they must be hardwired to your modem/router using a CAT6 Ethernet cable for network access. If your modem is far from the NVR or in a difficult-to-reach location, we can discuss cabling solutions or alternative network options during installation.

If additional cabling or network solutions are required, there may be an extra cost depending on the complexity of the setup.

Yes! Surveillance systems support remote viewing via the desktop or mobile app, allowing you to monitor your property from anywhere using your smartphone, tablet, or computer. We will set this up for you and guide you through using it.

There are no monthly subscriptions and all your data is stored locally on your recorder's hard drive.

Your NVR automatically overwrites the oldest footage when the hard drive is full. If you need to keep recordings for a longer period, you can upgrade to a larger hard drive or adjust recording settings (e.g., motion-based recording instead of continuous recording). Or adjust the setting to stop recording when the hard drive is full.

We only feature reputable brands in our CCTV packages, guaranteeing high-quality devices and straightforward warranty procedures.

Yes, all security systems come with at least 3-year manufacturer’s warranty on parts. We also provide an installation warranty of 2 years, ensuring that everything is set up correctly and works as expected. For more info about warranty click here: Warranty

Our professional installers ensure minimal impact on your property. We use discreet cabling methods and discuss the best placement options with you before drilling or mounting any cameras.

Yes, you can add more cameras later, as long as your NVR has spare channels available. If you anticipate potentially needing additional cameras in the future, we recommend choosing an NVR with extra channels now. This ensures your system is ready for easy expansion whenever required.

CCTV systems require power, with the recommendation being to use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to ensure continuous operation during short-term power failures.

The cameras provide various ways to capture in low light scenarios. The primary option is sensor technology enabling color in dark environments. The second option is infrared lights for clear black and white footage in low light. The third option is the motion-activated 'flashlight' in Guardian and Sentinel packages.

Retrieving footage from your CCTV system is quick and hassle-free. You have multiple ways to access and review your recordings, depending on what’s most convenient for you:

🖥️ Via the NVR interface:
Connect a monitor directly to your Network Video Recorder (NVR) to search, playback, and export footage on-site using a mouse and intuitive menu.
📱 Using the mobile app:
Access your recordings anytime, anywhere through the dedicated mobile app. Quickly scrub through timelines or jump to motion-detected events right from your smartphone or tablet.
💻 Through the desktop app:
Use the desktop software on your PC or laptop for full control over playback, video downloads, and camera views—all from the comfort of your office or home.
🌐 With a web browser:
Log into your NVR remotely via any standard browser to view live feeds, search footage, and manage downloads—no additional software required.

📁 Retrieving Footage
You can easily export important clips in two ways:
Insert a USB drive into the NVR and use the export function to save recordings directly.
Download selected footage to your computer via the desktop app or browser interface for secure backup and sharing.

Yes! All our CCTV system packages support notifications to your mobile app. Sentinel and Guardian cameras can even actively ward off intrusions using strobe lights and sirens.

Yes! We offer flexible payment options, including buy now, pay later solutions to make securing your property more affordable. We currently support Zip, Humm and Afterpay.

Your security system is covered by a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty for defects or malfunctions under normal use. If you experience a product-related issue, contact our support team for troubleshooting assistance. If the issue qualifies under warranty, we will guide you through the return process.

For warranty claims on faulty products, please note that the customer is responsible for uninstalling and returning the device, as this falls outside the scope of installation services. However, if the issue is due to an installation-related fault or poor workmanship, we will be responsible for retrieving and replacing the device at no cost if its within the 2-year workmanship warranty period.

For general questions or configuration assistance beyond the original installation scope, we are happy to help free of charge in most cases, as long as it does not exceed 10 minutes by phone. If additional support is required, a service fee may apply, but we will always inform you upfront.

If you need assistance, please reach out to our support team by phone or email, and we will be happy to help.

Booking is easy! You can set a date for a consult or an install on each CCTV package page.

Installing CCTV systems in double-storey homes typically incurs higher costs due to the increased complexity and labor involved. Factors such as running cables through walls, accessing difficult areas, and ensuring proper coverage across multiple levels contribute to these additional expenses.

Basic Double-Storey Installation Fee
This applies to straightforward installations where:

  • Cabling routes are easily accessible.
  • Minimal drilling or structural modifications are needed.
  • Standard installation tools and techniques are sufficient.

Complex Double-Storey Installation Fee
A higher fee applies when additional challenges are involved, such as:

  • Limited access to cable paths, requiring advanced wiring solutions.
  • Walls, ceilings, or floors needing additional modifications to conceal cables.
  • The use of specialised equipment or extra labor to ensure a secure and professional finish.
